I am currently the Director and Head of Research for the Advanced Computing Labs (ACL) at KLA. ACL is located in the IIT Madras Research Park in, Chennai. My lab focuses on research in various facets of high performance computing to improve KLA’s products that use image processing and AI to identify defects in the semiconductor manufacturing process.

Previously, I was a Principal engineer and part of the Office of CTO at MulticoreWare Inc., where I have made significant contributions to the video coding industry through software codec solutions such as the open-source HEVC encoder x265, and to the safety of the next-generation radar-on-chip designed by Uhnder Inc.

Prior to that, I was a Platform Architect at Intel Corporation where I worked on many facets of Intel’s 6th generation CPU, code-named Skylake.

On the academic side, I received my Masters and PhD from the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign under the tutelage of  Prof. Sarita Adve. I hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and developed an Algorithm for co-processors under Dr. V. Kamakoti for my undergraduate project. I have also served as an Adjunct Faculty in the Computer Science Department of IIT Madras from 2016 to 2020.
